On a Saturday in June

On a Saturday in June, 2024, one sister was at a Chicago Cubs game in 96 degree heat with her family, only having one beer because she was the designated driver. Most of the family (and the rest of the fans) wore baseball hats, and alternated between beer and water.
Another sister was in Connecticut waiting out a tornado warning for 3 hours in her basement with her family, none of whom were wearing hats, but one daughter did straighten her hair.
Another sister was driving down a California mountain, missing her sister(s), watching the temperature grow from 68 degrees at the top to 108 at the bottom. She had air conditioning, so she only had to watch the temperature rise.
Her straw hat was in the way back, sliding around making zipper-like sounds, startling her at every mountain turn. She had not packed the car properly, again.
This sister realized that her hat was too big to ever fit into the crowded stands of Wrigley Field and that her own hair would never stay straight because of its texture and commitment to other goals, whatever and wherever the weather.
But none of this matters, because they are sisters.
And because they (and their families) all made it to Sunday.
