I like to make things.
Films, friends, breakfast, legal turns, people, poems. Not in that order, and sometimes against my will.

In 2007, I founded NELA Films with my husband and partner, Adam Bluming, after having worked in features and docs for over 10 years.

Between film projects (and raising two daughters), I have worked with children in places ranging from a refugee camp in Thailand, to middle school classrooms in Taos, New Mexico, and K-12 blacktop playgrounds in Los Angeles.

For 15 years, I merged my love of filmmaking and working with kids in the projects I created for Sesame Workshop. More recently, I developed, produced and co-directed a children’s reading series with YouTube Originals and Boardwalk Pictures.

Additional proud projects include films made for CNN Heroes, Stand Up To Cancer, Red Nose Day, LAUSD, YouTube Kids, LetGrow.org, Little, Brown and Company and the BAFTA Britannia Awards.

My films have been collectively viewed over 400,000,000 times (largely on other people’s platforms, in case you want to work together or help me switch up my business model).

Last but not least (hopefully), I was a 2024 Denis Diderot grant recipient for a writer’s residency at Chateau d’Orquevaux in northeastern France and just finished a documentary project with some kickass kids (and grown ups) promoting childhood independence and resiliency.
Let me know if you want to do something, or if you’re excited about something. I’d love to meet you.

Maybe.....
